Sicomin, founded in 1946, was headed by Charles Marcovich after a brilliant career in the Free French Forces.<\/span><\/p>\n

The name Sicomin is a contraction of S<\/strong>oci\u00e9t\u00e9 I<\/strong>nternational for COM<\/strong>merce and IN<\/strong>dustry.<\/p>\n

The company was dedicated to the distribution in France of fatty acids representing Unilever plants until the 1980’s.<\/p>\n

Philippe Marcovich, the current president, with a passion for sailing and new materials, opened within Sicomin, in 1983 a composite materials department.<\/p>\n

The success of this new department lead to the set up of a plant and a laboratory in Ch\u00e2teauneuf-les-Martigues (near Marseille) in 1985.
Sicomin has become a recognized formulator and supplier of epoxy resins and composite materials.<\/p>\n

In 2007, Sicomin enlarged its Marseille plant, while its Brittany site was expanded to provide local service to French customers on the Atlantic seaboard.<\/p>\n

In 2014 Sicomin, invested in a new construction which will total 7000m2 of facilities in order to increase its production capacity to best pursue its developments in France and worldwide.<\/p>\n

In 2022, Sicomin expanded its research laboratory by a total area of 400m\u00b2 in order to increase its R&D department. In Brittany, a new plant was built with over 1,500 m\u00b2 of additional storage space to offer customers a wide range of services.<\/p>\n

In 2025, Ken Marcovich takes over as Managing Director of Sicomin after successfully developing Map Yachting. He succeeds his father, Philippe Marcovich, who led the company for 42 years. Philippe remains President of the company and is now focusing on the innovative projects ACCWING and MAXCORE, in collaboration with his younger son, Sam Marcovich. <\/p>\n
