Hand Laminating
Vacuum bagging and hand lamination are two of the most commonly used processes in the field of composite manufacturing. From the outset, Sicomin has formulated epoxy systems to meet the wide range of parameters required for their application.
Sicomin offers a wide range of bio-sourced and standard systems. Here are some examples that illustrate the diversity of properties in our systems:
Curing time :
Ranging from a few minutes to many hours.
Mechanical / thermal properties:
We offer systems with very high tensile modulus (4,000 MPa), as well as formulations capable of achieving elongation in excess of 100%. Systems usable with or without post-curing, allowing for service temperatures up to 130 °C.
Viscosity / processing :
Highly fluid systems with very low viscosity for easy impregnation up to very high viscosity “gel-line” systems for application on vertical surfaces without dripping. We also have systems with exceptional wetting properties that facilitate impregnation, and provide better adhesion to the fiber.
Colors:
very clear systems with improved UV resistance or very opaque and highly covering systems.
