Foaming Epoxy
Sicomin is the leading formulator of foaming epoxy systems, developed specifically for the production of high-performance structural core materials and offering excellent adhesion to epoxy, vinylester and polyester laminates.
Foamable epoxies are used as core materials for highly stressed parts and where rigid core materials are not readily available. Parts with complex geometries can be produced in foamed epoxy without the extra cost, time and materials waste of CNC machining.
With over 20 years’ experience in formulating foaming epoxy systems for industrial, marine, automotive and aerospace applications (flame retardant versions), Sicomin has developed the widest range of epoxy foam densities available on the market.
Sicomin’s range of foaming epoxy systems can be adjusted to meet the needs of our customers, taking into account both production constraints and the properties of the finished product. By controlling the expansion process at low pressure and optimising the system to suit the size of the parts to be manufactured, it is possible to use lightweight tooling requiring less structural reinforcement, whilst obtaining a high-performance product.
Sicomin’s foaming epoxies can also be used with two-component mixing machines to increase throughput in large production runs.
A dedicated version of the foaming epoxy system is also available for spray application.

PB 410 GS is a new-generation two-component sprayable foaming epoxy resin containing 26% biobased carbon.
PB 570 i
PB 570 i is a two-component foaming epoxy resin. After expansion and curing, the material is fire-retardant, water-resistant and has a density of 570 kg/m3.
PB 250
PB 250 foaming epoxy is a two-component system with a density of 250 kg/m3 designed to foam volumes and hollow bodies to inert and strengthen them.
PB 600
