Developed for composite assembly and bonding applications, the new formulations combine controlled, precise application with the mechanical performance required for demanding structural components.
SR 740 for thick-section structural bonding
SR 740 is a structural epoxy adhesive formulated for large bonding areas and high-load assemblies where a thick, non-sag bond line is required. The formulation provides gap-filling capability for joints with bond-line thicknesses of up to 25 mm, allowing it to accommodate dimensional tolerances and irregularities between bonded components.

The formulation provides gap-filling capability for joints with bond-line thicknesses of up to 25 mm, allowing it to accommodate dimensional tolerances and irregularities between bonded components.
Supplied in a cartridge system, SR 740 enables controlled metering and application directly onto the bonding surface. This is particularly relevant to composite manufacturing processes where consistent adhesive deposition and bond-line control are important to achieving repeatable joint quality.
SR 790 for rapid component positioning
SR 790 has been developed as a fast-positioning adhesive for composite assembly, providing initial fixation of components before lamination or final structural bonding operations. It can be used across a range of substrates, including composite materials, metals and wood.
The formulation is designed to develop handling strength rapidly, allowing assembled components to be positioned and secured without extended clamping times. At 20°C, SR 790 gels in approximately 10 minutes, with a clamp time of around 20 minutes.
This makes the system particularly suited to assembly operations where components need to be accurately located and held in position before subsequent manufacturing stages. Its cartridge format also enables adhesive to be applied directly at the point of assembly without additional preparation or mixing equipment.
Expanding CMR Free Portfolio
The launch of SR 740 and SR 790 coincides with continued investment by Sicomin in adhesive production capacity, specifically CMR-free products. The expansion is intended to support increasing demand for structural bonding technologies across the marine, industrial and construction sectors, where the use of bonded composite structures continues to grow.
“The requirements around structural adhesives are becoming increasingly demanding, both in terms of mechanical performance and the way products are handled during manufacture,” said Marc Denjean, Global Sales Manager, Sicomin. “SR 740 and SR 790 have been developed around two very specific manufacturing requirements – controlling thick structural bond lines and achieving rapid, reliable component positioning. At the same time, they extend our commitment to CMR-free adhesives providing safer bonding solutions.”
